Kunst & Zaken
From 1 July 2010 Kunst & Zaken is also responsible for drafting the Culture Sponsor Code. Kunst & Zaken has been asked to fulfil this role by the Culture Sponsor Code Foundation because of its specific expertise and experience in this field, for example, its development of the Code Cultural Governance for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. In addition, the secretariat of the Culture Sponsor Code has already been fused with Kunst & Zaken. That Kunst & Zaken is now also responsible for developing the content of the Code is in line with its remit: the exchange of expertise between the cultural/creative sector and the private/public sector.

Updating the code
Kunst & Zaken wishes to update the Culture Sponsor Code, which was initially implemented in 1993 and reviewed in 1999. To this end, a working party will be formed comprising Kunst & Zaken, umbrella organisations from the cultural sector, the business community and several experts.

Code of Conduct
The Code Cultuursponsoring (Culture Sponsor Code), which contains a Code of Conduct for the parties involved in sponsoring cultural activities, came into being in 1993 on the initiative of the Minister of Welfare, Health and Cultural Affairs, and has been endorsed by all those parties: the sponsors, the sponsored, the subsidizers and consumer organizations. The code of conduct in question sets the standard for reliable (culture) sponsor practice and can chiefly be seen as having a preventive effect.
The Culture Sponsor Code took effect in 1993 and was revised in 1999.

Cultural Governance
Cultural governance has recently come in for considerable attention in the cultural sector. The 23 Cultural Governance Recommendations for good, reliable and transparent governance that were presented in 2003 may generally have additional ramifications for the Culture Sponsor Code.
